Lomax Spiral Systems have secured the order for a Compact Packaged Spiral Chilling System and conveyors for an exciting new bakery project in Ireland. The customer, a leader in the production of speciality baked products, turned to Lomax when they wanted a bespoke system capable of arriving in one piece to reduce factory downtime. The Lomax design team worked closely with the customer in the planning stages to ensure the feeding conveyors, spiral and take-away conveyor system handles the delicate products with care and in the most hygienic conditions.
The Spiral Chiller has a unique compact design and highly efficient air system that enables large volumes of product to be chilled in a small footprint. The unit arrives on it’s own base frame that allows a single lift and quick positioning within the factory. Connections to one power source and two refrigeration pipe connections means the on-site installation work can be completed in a matter of days. The stainless steel fully accessible design ensures quick and easy cleaning for fast production turnaround between defrosting and so maximising uptime and return on investment.
The customer also entrusted Lomax with their conveying requirements, feeding products from multiple ovens into the spiral and then transporting the chilled product away from the spiral afterwards. The conveyors, with stainless steel hygienic construction and food grade plastic belt, will be controlled and synchronised with the spiral through a single control system that includes an operator HMI and fully programmable system settings.
This project follows a number of other industrial freezer and chiller installations around the world, further establishing Lomax as a leader in the field of custom designed Spiral Freezers, Spiral Chillers, IQF Freezers and In-Line Freezing and Chilling Tunnels.
