Where product placement on the belt becomes critical and operating conditions are likely to cause a regular lo-tension spiral to require excessive cleaning to maintain low tensions, then the drum driven spiral should be considered. With positive drum to belt engagement the system maintains a lower tension condition that would be well suited to situations where product debris increases belt-to-track friction, such as high flour, high grease or sugary applications.
The Drum Driven Spiral design allows for small, medium and twin drum spiral applications to benefit from its unique low tension system and so can handle product volumes from 200 – 10,000 kg/hr. As with standard spirals, various belt widths, tier levels and infeed and exit configurations are possible with the Drum Driven Spiral.
The Lomax Technical Sales and Project Team works closely with clients in the selection of the system to suit exact product and site space requirements and will advise if a smaller Compact Spiral, Site-Built Single Drum or Direct Edge Drive Spiral is more appropriate for the application or budget available.
